Paphiopedilum helenae, native to north Vietnam and southern China where it can be found on limestone cliff faces in mixed and coniferous forests. It should be noted that this is the smallest species of the genus. This individual’s leaf span is only 12 cm (4.75 inches) and the height including the inflorescence is 8 cm (3.15 inches). Grown and photographed by Ron Hanko; pictures were found on his blog, Orchids in Bloom.
